What is this?

Hey, did you know you can ride a bike on water? We offer a mega exciting adventure where you sit on specially designed bikes and glide over the water's surface, combining active movement with a complete sense of freedom. Here, you're the boss of your speed and direction, enjoying the peace of nature from a totally different, unique height. Unlike boats, these bikes offer excellent stability and ease, turning any moment into an unforgettable story.

Let’s head out on a water bike ride along the Riga Canal. It’s an awesome way to see the city center from a totally different angle and check out familiar spots in a whole new light. We’ll follow a route under historic bridges, past Bastejkalns, the National Opera, and by the Central Market with the bus station. This will be a real Adventure on Riga’s waters. A truly powerful yet relaxing way to enjoy the best views of the capital and its skyline.

No one to go with? Often you want to head out for some active fun, but there's no one to join you—friends have other plans, family is busy, and your partner isn't really into it. So feel free to join solo. In our Adventures, you won't feel alone because everyone's on the same path, giving you the chance to have a great time not only in nature but also meeting new people.

Aagenosta

What is the approximate plan?

  • Let's meet at the designated time below the respective date at our meeting point Aagenosta (Google map / Waze). You can walk here, roll in on a scooter, drive your car, or take public transport. Your choice for the most convenient way to get here. Once everyone is here and we've patiently waited 2 minutes for any latecomers, we can start. Your Adventure gear is ready and waiting, and the group leader will give a brief but valuable briefing on the Adventure and water safety. Let's dive into the Adventure!

If you're thinking, I can't do this, I've never done it, and it won't work for me, then you definitely should come and try it – we guarantee you'll succeed. You can confidently sign up and join the Adventure, even if you haven't done it before or can't swim. We'll show you everything and ensure your safety. By following the leader's instructions and guidelines, it's impossible to fall in unexpectedly, so everything is and will be cool.

During the Adventure, we enjoy awesome times, unusual and familiar views from a different angle, each other's company, the food and drinks we brought along, and after about ~8km of enjoyment and new sensations, our Adventure comes to an end.

Who will be your group leader?

Raimonds Šūpulnieks1 / 9

Raimonds Šūpulnieks

The leader of this Adventure group and your fellow Adventure creator, Raimonds, will be joining you. This means you'll have a hand to hold when climbing a mountain, a shoulder to lean on before a scarier activity, or a buddy to hit up local parties with. Those who've been on an Adventure with him before know you'll go where you probably shouldn't go, do what you probably shouldn't do, and it'll be great - it'll be ADVENTURES.

What else should I know?

If you're inclined to whine and be grumpy about little things, then this won't be the right Adventure, as it spoils both the group's microclimate and the mood of other group members. That's why we want to see positive adventurers on our Adventures. The group leader won't "babysit" the picky folks but will simply ignore them to focus on those who want to enjoy the Adventure. The group is small, which usually turns into a very friendly company, so it's not the right place for those who want to "pick fights."

We also recommend checking out the frequently asked questions.

Frequently asked questions:

  • 1. Can beginners join the activity?

The Water Bike Adventure is meant for everyone - both for those who pedal from morning till night and those who have never done it before. We'll show, explain, and teach everything. Plus, along with the gear, we've provided a life jacket for everyone to make sure everything's smooth in this Adventure :)

  • 2. What do I need to bring?

CLOTHING - You'll definitely need weather-appropriate and event-appropriate clothing. Dressing for the weather means checking the forecast the day before the event and preparing your outfit accordingly. If it's raining, wear something rainproof, and if the sun's shining, dress so you're not too hot or cold, etc. Make sure you're comfortable. Also, remember a change of clothes, as this Adventure is on the water and you might get wet. In short, your clothing list might look like this: clothes for water activities, like a swimsuit in warm weather, long pants (ideally waterproof overpants) in cold weather, a sweater/jacket, suitable footwear, and a towel will be handy. Then clothes for when the wind picks up and spare clothes for after the event (in case of an unexpected swim). And it's important to be prepared for rain with a rain jacket, because you never know.
ADDITIONAL ITEMS - insect repellent (if it's "mosquito season"), sunscreen (if sunny weather is expected), a thermos with a drink (if not included in the Adventure), snacks (if not included in the Adventure), etc.

  • 3. Will the Adventure take place in bad weather?

The quality and safety of this Adventure matter to us, so it’ll only happen in weather conditions suitable for this specific Adventure. Whether the weather is suitable is decided by the group leader of the relevant Adventure — not by any participant or their friends. In most cases, a rain forecast or actual rain won’t count as unsuitable weather. If the Adventure is cancelled, we’ll let you know no later than 6h before the start of the Adventure (with a few exceptions up to 3h before the start). If it’s cancelled, you’ll be able to move your spot to another date of this Adventure that works for you, or even to another Adventure with a similar price — but only if we cancel the event, not if you suddenly decide you’re made of sugar and don’t want to get wet.

  • 4. Can I go alone?

You can definitely join by yourself. On the contrary, many people go solo and in that case, you'll have the chance to meet new friends or maybe even find your other half 😉

  • 5. Are there any height and weight restrictions?

Our water bikes have a limited load capacity, so the weight limit per person is 110kg. The minimum height requirement is 150cm to be able to reach the pedals, but for very tall participants (over 190cm), it may not be possible to raise the handlebars and seat to a comfortable height. If you’re shorter than 150cm, let us know — we might be able to find a lower seat, making the minimum height 145cm.

  • 6. What's the deal with alcohol consumption on the Adventure?

This Adventure isn't for you if you plan to drink alcohol or party with friends, family, etc. We don't mind a single beer or a shot of balsam, but really just one, because the activity is NOT compatible with alcohol consumption. If you're looking for a place to drink, then don't come, and we can "remove" you from the Adventure at any time and place WITHOUT explanations and WITHOUT a refund of the participation fee.

  • 7. How to sign up for an Adventure?

You can sign up for the trip on our website by clicking the "SIGN UP" button and filling out the application form located under the Adventure description. Since there are many interested, but not all are actual travelers, an advance payment is required to confirm participation in the Adventure. The amount of the advance payment depends on the specific Adventure. By paying this advance, your spot in the Adventure is confirmed. If you cancel your participation in the Adventure, the advance payment is non-refundable and cannot be transferred to confirm participation in another trip.

  • 8. How long can I think about it if I want to sign up?

You can think about it as long as there are spots available. After that, you can keep thinking, but there won't be any spots left on the trip.

  • 9. Signed up, what's next?

After signing up, jot down and block off these dates for yourself, and slowly start getting ready for the Adventure. The meeting place and time are listed in this Adventure’s description, and you’ll also receive them in the voucher together with the confirmation email. Changes are rare, but if they do happen, you’ll be informed by email (sometimes urgently via whatsapp). If you have any extra questions or something’s unclear, get in touch with us via any of the contact channels listed in the contact section of our website. The easiest way for us is whatsapp, which you’ll find on our website. Otherwise, see you at the place and time stated in the Adventure.

  • 10. Is there anything else important?

The trip's vibe and awesomeness largely depend on the travelers themselves, so if you like to stir up trouble or "mess with the minds" of the organizers and other trip participants, then this trip isn't for you. We've had a couple of grumpy ladies before who annoyed everyone, so if you can't control your mood – DON'T COME! The group leader is ALWAYS right (even if they're not), so if you've decided to join, you'll have to listen to them.

Payment terms:

• Deposit payment 35EUR (per person) to reserve your spot upon booking.

Since we receive A LOT of applications but not all turn into actual bookings, your spot is only confirmed and reserved after the deposit is paid.

Age restrictions:

• Minimum recommended Participant age 10 years.

• No maximum age limit for participants.

How much does it cost?
