What is it?

Endless chats on the dating app. Then finally you go on a Tinder date with the most promising one and realize it's totally not a match. Online it seemed like so much in common, but here it just won't work - he's got a wife or she's got a husband, and actually, he/she doesn't even like activities, just sitting by the TV with a beer and chips - another waste of time and that's why you delete yourself from that stupid Tinder. Until once again, after some time, this app boomerangs back into your phone giving it yet another chance - you fill out the profile, expand the radius to catch some fresh meat, upload better pictures and the vicious cycle is back. You're back on Tinder, only to delete yourself after countless dates and start all over again.

That's why we have an offer for active free spirits to meet at an active sunrise event and in nature. Let's be free guys and free girls in the age range of 25 to 40, spending the morning hiking through the bog with bog shoes. Even if you don't find your other half at this event, you'll have spent an active morning with cool people and gained a dozen new friends.

If you want to try maybe something new for you, meet new people and spend active time in the fresh air. Then join us. We will do it with bog shoes in Cena Bog and catch the sunrise in the bog. The hike will start in flashlight light before sunrise, when the bog is quiet and dark. Then, step by step, as the sun rises, the area changes and colours, open space and the feeling that nature is waking up with us appear. After catching the sunrise and before leaving the bog, we will take a picnic break right there in the bog, enjoying the snacks and warm drinks we bring with us, or breakfast in the bog.

Even though this is a sunrise Adventure, the weather is super unpredictable, and we can't guarantee perfect weather with an even more perfect sunrise. So, the Adventure will happen even if the forecast doesn't promise an Instagram-worthy sunrise.

4reasons to join:

  1. Bog shoe hike through the bog
  2. Chance to find your great love of a lifetime
  3. Sunrise in a magical place
  4. Almost a dozen new friends

What is the rough plan?

  • At the agreed place and time, the girls and guys gather. Those who arranged to ride together have already gotten to know each other in the car, but the solo riders are still rubbing their hands in anticipation, even though the spying task in the event's WhatsApp group has already been done. Everyone's here, and there's a quick mini-introduction to ease the awkwardness. The group leader gives a brief but useful briefing, and off we go on a hike with bog shoes. Some conversations really flow, and it's insanely interesting, with smiles all around, but some might get stuck and need our help because we're not going to talk about the weather. What's next, some dumb team-building task? Don't worry, we don't find those "team-building" tasks where you pass a plastic cup with your mouth or climb over each other's feet or make barrels or other weird stuff mega interesting. Instead, there'll be time for you and your current buddy with a bit of our intervention if things really go sideways.

Somewhere in the middle, at the end, or at an unknown time, there's a picnic break, and then we're back at our starting point - the official part of the adventure is over.

Where is the starting point or meeting place? Cenas tīrelis (parking lot) (Google maps / Waze)
How far will we go? In total, it will be about ~6km
What should you wear and how to dress?
    What else is needed?
    Transportation:

  • Worth knowing that the distance we'll cover in the hike with bog shoes can feel 2-3 times harder, because we're walking through a bog and the bog shoes add extra weight to your footwear. Just so you know what to expect ;)

Who will be the group leader?

Raimonds Šūpulnieks1 / 9

Raimonds Šūpulnieks

The leader of this Adventure group and your fellow Adventure creator, Raimonds, will be joining you. This means you'll have a hand to hold when climbing a mountain, a shoulder to lean on before a scarier activity, or a buddy to hit up local parties with. Those who've been on an Adventure with him before know you'll go where you probably shouldn't go, do what you probably shouldn't do, and it'll be great - it'll be ADVENTURES.

What else should I know?

This Adventure is meant for people who are free from relationships. If you're in a relationship and looking for a lover, you won't be able to participate in this Adventure, so keep walking. Just like this Adventure is only for those who fit within our specified age limits. If you're outside of them, there might be a similar event for your age range.

This Adventure isn't for comfort lovers or those who can't step out of their comfort zone. Just a heads up, so you don't end up telling all sorts of nonsense later. This isn't a holiday for sleeping in; it's a holiday for having fun and a great time.

We also recommend checking out the frequently asked questions.

Frequently asked questions:

  • 1. What do I need to bring?

The most important thing is to have an amazing spirit and the desire to have a great time. Everything else is secondary but still important. So, as with any hike, it's crucial to dress according to the weather. If it's warm, dress for warm weather (shorts, t-shirt, hat, sunglasses). If it's raining, bring a rain jacket, and if it's snowing, a thick jacket and gloves. You'll need to wear moisture-resistant hiking shoes (at least mid-height to cover the ankle) or boots. If the weather is autumn-like, rubber boots will do, and in winter conditions (snow), you'll need winter boots. Also, bring a small backpack to pack your sandwiches, tea, water, and maybe a little balm for warmth, as well as a change of clothes to put on after the hike.

  • 2. How do we get to the Adventure and back?

Getting to the Adventure start is with your own private transport. If you don't have your own private transport, it's possible to team up and go with other participants of this event. Before the Adventure, we'll try to organize and help so those who drive with their own transport can pick up those who don't, as this way it's possible to share fuel costs (win-win). If this option doesn't suit you, it's possible to go by public transport.

  • 3. How to sign up for an Adventure?

You can sign up for the trip on our website by clicking the "SIGN UP" button and filling out the application form located under the Adventure description. Since there are many interested, but not all are actual travelers, an advance payment is required to confirm participation in the Adventure. The amount of the advance payment depends on the specific Adventure. By paying this advance, your spot in the Adventure is confirmed. If you cancel your participation in the Adventure, the advance payment is non-refundable and cannot be transferred to confirm participation in another trip.

  • 4. Signed up, what's next?

After signing up, note and reserve these dates for yourself, and slowly start preparing. A few days before the Adventure start date, usually at the beginning of that week, but no later than 4-5 days before, you'll receive an informational email with the meeting time and other important "what / where / when" info regarding the Adventure.

  • 5. How long can I think about it if I want to sign up?

You can think about it as long as there are spots available. After that, you can keep thinking, but there won't be any spots left on the trip.

  • 6. How does the contract signing happen?

There's no physical contract signing. When signing up for an Adventure, after filling out the application form and before making the payment, you can check out the Adventure contract and save it if needed. Paying the advance invoice confirms this particular Adventure contract.

  • 7. Is it possible to sign the contract in person?

No, it's not possible, because we VERY often find ourselves on adventures outside of Latvia (check the Adventure list on our website). Occasionally, between Adventures, you can catch us in Cēsis.

  • 8. Is there anything else important?

The trip's vibe and awesomeness largely depend on the travelers themselves, so if you like to stir up trouble or "mess with the minds" of the organizers and other trip participants, then this trip isn't for you. We've had a couple of grumpy ladies before who annoyed everyone, so if you can't control your mood – DON'T COME! The group leader is ALWAYS right (even if they're not), so if you've decided to join, you'll have to listen to them.

Payment terms:

• Deposit payment 35EUR (per person) to reserve your spot upon booking.

Because we receive VERY many applications, but not all applicants become real travellers, your place is confirmed and reserved only after the deposit is paid.

Age limits:

• Minimum Adventure participant age 25 years.

• Maximum Adventure participant age 40 years.

How much does it cost?

35 €Participation fee

The participation fee for this fantastic mini Adventure is 35 EUR, which is the same as a couple of coffees at a gas station. The price includes everything described below. The number of spots on the trip is VERY limited, so don't wait until the last minute to sign up 😉

The Adventure price includes:

  • Snowshoe / swamp shoe rental
  • Hiking poles
  • Adventure planning and plan development
  • Group leader's support, jokes, and adventure stories

EXTRA COSTS:

  • Transport to/from the event
  • Drinks, food, and snacks

* And in addition, the Adventure includes those things that money can't buy – awesome emotions, great company, new friends, a daily dose of laughter, and perfectly spent time.
