What is this?

Every Thursday after work we invite you to ditch the routine and head out for a short SUP Adventure right here in Riga and each time on a different route, but always with the evening sun, water splashes, and the feeling that you've truly stumbled into summer and right near the center of Riga, in places where you can get to by tram, trolleybus, bus, or even scooter. These are 2–3 hour long SUP evening trips, where the board brings peace, the views leave you speechless, and suddenly everything feels just right. The city fades into the background, but you're on the water.

Love Island (16.07.2026)
Love Island is one of the rare spots in Riga you can't reach by bridge or path — only by water. That's why it's still wild: lakes tangled in reeds, beaver constructions, and bird calls where herons greet you more often than trams. We'll stop and climb the bird tower, check out everything from above, and take a swim at the local beach. Because what's an evening on a SUP without a little dip? No rush, just you, summer, and Love Island – a place where the city suddenly forgets it's a city

Jugla Canal (23.07.2026)
This Thursday we'll be cruising along the Jugla Canal – from Lake Jugla to Lake Ķīšezers and back. Here, the city slowly retreats, giving way to natural tranquility, interrupted only by the chatter of ducks and a fisherman who thinks he owns the entire shoreline. Along the way, we'll also see “Little Shanghai” – the legendary floating village, which looks like Riga's Venice with Soviet-era relics tied in place of boats. The water is calm, life sways in the reeds, and it feels like discovering a secret corner of Riga where everything happens a bit slower and much more peacefully. It's just good here.

Vecdaugava (30.07.2026)
If you don't know where Vecdaugava is in Riga, you'll find out, because this Thursday's SUP evening will take us through Vecdaugava. This place is like Riga's secret, known only to those who once accidentally ended up at the "wrong" tram terminal. Here, the city transforms into a quiet space with mysterious boat docks, reed labyrinths, and water surrounding houses like in Venice, but without tourists and without 14-euro coffee. During the SUP ride, we'll glide past crumbling fishermen's huts, green shores, and water paths that feel more like rural idyll than a capital city. And yes, this is the side of Riga where birds still sing louder than cars, and that means something

Lielupe river mouth to the sea (06.08.2026)
This route takes us to where the Lielupe ends and the sea begins. We'll paddle along the river's calm downstream past the famous White Dune right to the mouth, where sandbanks and pines gradually give way to the open bay's vastness. Here the water turns salty, the horizon expands, and we're greeted by some of the most beautiful sunsets in the area.

Zaķusala (13.08.2026)
We'll paddle around Zaķusala — right opposite Old Riga, under the railway bridge, and check out the Rail Baltic pile in the Daugava. From the water, we'll watch the Baltic's tallest building, the TV tower, rise up. Yeah, from the water, its 368-meter spire looks almost unreal. On one side, there's the whole panorama of the old town with church spires and bridges; on the other — a quiet, overgrown backwater where the city fades away, leaving only reeds and the green of the shore

South Bridge and Krūmiņsala (20.08.2026)
This route kicks off at the Southern Bridge — Riga's largest and most modern bridge, its 800-meter structure taking over the sky from a SUP board. Then the city quickly retreats: we'll paddle to Krūmiņsala — a wild, overgrown island with no streets or houses, just trees, bushes, and water. An amazing leap from a concrete giant to a completely untouched corner of the Daugava.

Mīlgrāvis (27.08.2026)
We'll wrap up the season with a SUP ride along Mīlgrāvis – a waterway connecting Ķīšezers with the sea, showcasing Riga from its slightly industrial-romantic side. Here, you'll encounter fishing boats and the silhouettes of the Riga Shipyard, interspersed with the greens of the Ozo golf course – a contrast you can't miss. Along the way, we'll spot harbor corners, quieter shores, and feel like we've escaped, even though we're right where we usually drive by in our cars, just now from a completely different perspective

No one to go with? Often you want to head out for some active fun, but there's no one to join you—friends have other plans, family is busy, and your partner isn't really into it. So feel free to join solo. In our Adventures, you won't feel alone because everyone's on the same path, giving you the chance to have a great time not only in nature but also meeting new people.

3 reasons to join:

  1. Adventure on a weekday evening after work
  2. Every Thursday a different route
  3. Discover Riga from a different perspective

  • The plan is just a rough outline and there might be changes, but overall it will be as described above.

Who will be the group leader?

The leaders of this Adventure group and your companions will be Adventure Creator Raimonds and Māra. He likes to go where you probably shouldn't, do things you probably shouldn't do, but she likes to go where it's nice and beautiful, do things that are safe and enjoyable. So it'll be something in between. It'll be great, it'll be challenging, and there will be ADVENTURES.

What else should I know?

If you're inclined to whine and be grumpy about little things, then this won't be the right Adventure, as it spoils both the group's microclimate and the mood of other group members. That's why we want to see positive adventurers on our Adventures. The group leader won't "babysit" the picky folks but will simply ignore them to focus on those who want to enjoy the Adventure. The group is small, which usually turns into a very friendly company, so it's not the right place for those who want to "pick fights."

We also recommend checking out the frequently asked questions.

Frequently asked questions:

  • 1. Can beginners join the activity?

The SUP Adventure is meant for everyone - both those who paddle with a SUP board from morning till night, and those who've never done it before. We'll show, explain, and teach everything.

  • 2. What do I need to bring?

CLOTHING - You'll definitely need weather-appropriate and event-appropriate clothing. Dressing for the weather means checking the forecast the day before the event and preparing your outfit accordingly. If it's raining, wear something rainproof, and if the sun's shining, dress so you're not too hot or cold, etc. Make sure you're comfortable. Also, remember a change of clothes, as this Adventure is on the water and you might get wet. In short, your clothing list might look like this: clothes for water activities, like a swimsuit in warm weather, long pants (ideally waterproof overpants) in cold weather, a sweater/jacket, suitable footwear, and a towel will be handy. Then clothes for when the wind picks up and spare clothes for after the event (in case of an unexpected swim). And it's important to be prepared for rain with a rain jacket, because you never know.
ADDITIONAL ITEMS - insect repellent (if it's "mosquito season"), sunscreen (if sunny weather is expected), a thermos with a drink (if not included in the Adventure), snacks (if not included in the Adventure), etc.

  • 3. Will the Adventure take place in unsuitable weather conditions?

We care about the quality and safety of this Adventure, so it will only happen in weather conditions suitable for this Adventure. Whether the weather is suitable is determined by the Adventure group leader, not any of the participants or their friends. In case of cancellation, we will inform you no later than 12 hours in advance (before the start of the Adventure). If canceled, you can reschedule your participation to another preferred date for this Adventure or even an Adventure with equivalent costs, but only if we cancel the event, not if a participant decides to cancel it themselves.

  • 4. Can I go alone?

You can definitely join by yourself. On the contrary, many people go solo and in that case, you'll have the chance to meet new friends or maybe even find your other half 😉

  • 5. Are there any height and weight restrictions?

Our SUPs have a limited capacity, so the weight limit is 120kg. There are no height restrictions, at least we haven't noticed it being important.

  • 6. Can I join with my own personal SUP board?

You can definitely join us with your own personal SUP board, in that case, your Adventure price will be 10EUR, but send us a private message so we can sort everything out.

  • 7. How do I sign up if I want to participate with my own personal SUP board?

Currently, it's not possible to sign up on our website if you're not using the full package, so drop us a message via email or WhatsApp and we'll sort it out.

  • 8. How to sign up for an Adventure?

You can sign up for the trip on our website by clicking the "SIGN UP" button and filling out the application form located under the Adventure description. Since there are many interested, but not all are actual travelers, an advance payment is required to confirm participation in the Adventure. The amount of the advance payment depends on the specific Adventure. By paying this advance, your spot in the Adventure is confirmed. If you cancel your participation in the Adventure, the advance payment is non-refundable and cannot be transferred to confirm participation in another trip.

  • 9. Signed up, what's next?

After signing up, mark and reserve these dates for yourself, and slowly start preparing. The day before the Adventure start date, but no later than 6:00 PM, you'll receive an informational email with the exact meeting place, time, and other important "what / where / when" info regarding this Adventure.

  • 10. How long can I think about it if I want to sign up?

You can think about it as long as there are spots available. After that, you can keep thinking, but there won't be any spots left on the trip.

  • 11. Is there anything else important?

The trip's vibe and awesomeness largely depend on the travelers themselves, so if you like to stir up trouble or "mess with the minds" of the organizers and other trip participants, then this trip isn't for you. We've had a couple of grumpy ladies before who annoyed everyone, so if you can't control your mood – DON'T COME! The group leader is ALWAYS right (even if they're not), so if you've decided to join, you'll have to listen to them.

Payment terms:

• Deposit payment 20EUR (per person) to reserve your spot upon booking.

Since we receive A LOT of applications but not all turn into actual bookings, your spot is only confirmed and reserved after the deposit is paid.

Age restrictions:

• Minimum recommended Participant age 12 years.

• No maximum age limit for participants.

How much does it cost?

The participation fee for this fantastic afternoon Adventure is 20 EUR. As the event date approaches, the price might get higher and the number of spots is VERY limited, so don't put off signing up until the last minute 😉

Included in the adventure price:

  • SUP gear set (SUP board, paddle, life vest, leash)
  • Adventure stories and jokes from the group leader
  • Adventure planning and plan development

* And in addition, the Adventure includes those things that money can't buy – awesome emotions, great company, new friends, a daily dose of laughter, and perfectly spent time.
