What is this?
Let's head out on a special trip with illuminated kayaks through the Riga city canal and the waters of the Daugava. We'll start just before sunset to catch the moment when the city quiets down, evening lights flicker on, and the first reflections appear in the water. As darkness falls, our boats will glow like floating lanterns, transforming the usual Riga canal into a completely different atmosphere. The ride will be calm, aesthetic, and slightly surreal — surrounded by evening Riga, lit-up bridges, the sound of water, and the feeling that the city belongs only to us at this moment. This will be an evening where the main focus isn't on distance or speed, but on the sensations that can only be experienced on the water after sunset and as darkness sets in.
No one to go with? Often you want to head out for some active fun, but there's no one to join you—friends have other plans, family is busy, and your partner isn't really into it. So feel free to join solo. In our Adventures, you won't feel alone because everyone's on the same path, giving you the chance to have a great time not only in nature but also meeting new people.
3 reasons to join:
- Night kayaking
- Lit-up boats
- Unusual and unique Adventure
Aagenosta
What is the approximate plan?
Let's meet at the designated time below the respective date at our meeting point Aagenosta (Google map / Waze). You can walk here, roll in on a scooter, drive your car, or take public transport. Your choice for the most convenient way to get here. Once everyone is here and we've patiently waited 2 minutes for any latecomers, we can start. Your Adventure gear is ready and waiting, and the group leader will give a brief but valuable briefing on the Adventure and water safety. Let's dive into the Adventure!
If you're thinking, I can't do this, I've never done it, and it won't work for me, then you definitely should come and try it – we guarantee you'll succeed. You can confidently sign up and join the Adventure, even if you haven't done it before or can't swim. We'll show you everything and ensure your safety. By following the leader's instructions and guidelines, it's impossible to fall in unexpectedly, so everything is and will be cool.
During the Adventure, we enjoy awesome times, unusual and familiar views from a different angle, each other's company, the food and drinks we brought along, and after about ~8km of enjoyment and new sensations, our Adventure comes to an end.

How does the Adventure with boats happen?
The adventure takes place with boats, meaning it's a boating adventure where we paddle along a cool route. Our boats are designed for 2 people, so they're two-seaters. If you're going solo, you'll be paired up with another participant, giving you not just a cool adventure but possibly a new friend. Some boats can accommodate a third person, but if you need this, you must contact us BEFORE signing up for the adventure, as these spots are VERY limited.
We carry all the gear needed for the adventure ourselves with the boats, and there's plenty of space in them. Of course, there's only enough space if the amount is within reason, not if you've packed a toaster, hairdryer, washing machine, and grandma's hope chest. In that case, you'll have to think about what you'll leave on the shore.
Before the Adventure, we meet at the pre-arranged spot and organize car shuttling to the end, where they wait for us when we finish the Adventure. You can totally go on this Adventure solo or with one of your group buddies. You can find more info about the logistics in the "Frequently Asked Questions" section of this Adventure.
Who will be the group leader?
The leader of this Adventure group will be Māra, and she'll be heading out with you. When she's not off on Adventures, she's a certified snowboard instructor with a true board sports spirit. When the mountains lose their snow, she switches to a skateboard or goes wakeboarding for the thrill. Māra adds a feminine charm and balance between adventure and comfort, ensuring days are filled with new experiences, yet leaving you eager for the next Adventure by evening. With her, everything happens smoothly, naturally, and confidently - without unnecessary noise, but with a true taste of Adventure.
What else should I know?
We also recommend checking out the frequently asked questions.
If you're inclined to whine and be grumpy about little things, then this won't be the right Adventure, as it spoils both the group's microclimate and the mood of other group members. That's why we want to see positive adventurers on our Adventures. The group leader won't "babysit" the picky folks but will simply ignore them to focus on those who want to enjoy the Adventure. The group is small, which usually turns into a very friendly company, so it's not the right place for those who want to "pick fights."
Frequently asked questions:
1. Can beginners join the activity?
The Canoeing Adventure is meant for everyone - both those who paddle from morning till night and those who've never done it before. We'll show you everything, explain it, and teach you. Plus, along with the gear, we've provided a life jacket for everyone to make sure everything's smooth sailing in this Adventure :)
2. What do I need to bring?
CLOTHING - You'll definitely need weather-appropriate and event-appropriate clothing. Dressing for the weather means checking the forecast the day before the event and preparing your outfit accordingly. If it's raining, wear something rainproof, and if the sun's shining, dress so you're not too hot or cold, etc. Make sure you're comfortable. Also, remember a change of clothes, as this Adventure is on the water and you might get wet. In short, your clothing list might look like this: clothes for water activities, like a swimsuit in warm weather, long pants (ideally waterproof overpants) in cold weather, a sweater/jacket, suitable footwear, and a towel will be handy. Then clothes for when the wind picks up and spare clothes for after the event (in case of an unexpected swim). And it's important to be prepared for rain with a rain jacket, because you never know.
ADDITIONAL ITEMS - insect repellent (if it's "mosquito season"), sunscreen (if sunny weather is expected), a thermos with a drink (if not included in the Adventure), snacks (if not included in the Adventure), etc.3. Can I go alone?
You can definitely join by yourself. On the contrary, many people go solo and in that case, you'll have the chance to meet new friends or maybe even find your other half 😉
4. Are there any height and weight restrictions?
Our boats have limited buoyancy, so the weight limit for individuals is 100kg. There are no height restrictions, at least we haven't noticed it being important.
5. Will the Adventure take place in unsuitable weather conditions?
We care about the quality and safety of this Adventure, so it will only happen in weather conditions suitable for this Adventure. Whether the weather is suitable is determined by the Adventure group leader, not any of the participants or their friends. In case of cancellation, we will inform you no later than 12 hours in advance (before the start of the Adventure). If canceled, you can reschedule your participation to another preferred date for this Adventure or even an Adventure with equivalent costs, but only if we cancel the event, not if a participant decides to cancel it themselves.
6. How to sign up for an Adventure?
You can sign up for the trip on our website by clicking the "SIGN UP" button and filling out the application form located under the Adventure description. Since there are many interested, but not all are actual travelers, an advance payment is required to confirm participation in the Adventure. The amount of the advance payment depends on the specific Adventure. By paying this advance, your spot in the Adventure is confirmed. If you cancel your participation in the Adventure, the advance payment is non-refundable and cannot be transferred to confirm participation in another trip.
7. How long can I think about it if I want to sign up?
You can think about it as long as there are spots available. After that, you can keep thinking, but there won't be any spots left on the trip.
8. Is there anything else important?
The trip's vibe and awesomeness largely depend on the travelers themselves, so if you like to stir up trouble or "mess with the minds" of the organizers and other trip participants, then this trip isn't for you. We've had a couple of grumpy ladies before who annoyed everyone, so if you can't control your mood – DON'T COME! The group leader is ALWAYS right (even if they're not), so if you've decided to join, you'll have to listen to them.
Payment terms:
• Deposit payment 25EUR (per person) to reserve your spot upon booking.
Since we receive A LOT of applications but not all turn into actual bookings, your spot is only confirmed and reserved after the deposit is paid.
Age restrictions:
• Minimum recommended Participant age 10 years.
• No maximum age limit for participants.
How much does it cost?
If you sign up now, you'll have the chance to join this fantastic Adventure for a fee of 25 EUR. Later, the Adventure fee will increase and you won't be able to negotiate for a cheaper price. The price includes everything described below. The number of spots on the trip is VERY limited, so don't put off signing up until the last minute 😉
Included in the adventure price:
- Kayaking Adventure with Illuminated Boats
- Spot in a two-person kayak or kayak rental
- Life jacket and paddle
- Canoeing briefing and technical support during the Adventure
- Adventure stories and jokes from the group leader
